Pakistan Speedster Announces Retirement From International Cricket, Leaves An Emotional Note
The fast bowler of Pakistan Sohail Khan has officially retired from International and First-Class Cricket. Born in Malakand agency in North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), Sohail Khan started his career in Karachi. During the 2007-08 season of Quaid-e-Azam he made a wonderful performance and came into limelight.
Sohail Khan announced his retirement from his official Twitter account where he wrote,”After a thorough consultation with my close ones, I’ve decided to retire from International & First Class Cricket. Big thank you to PCB, my family, coaches, mentors, teammates, fans, and everyone who supported me. I would continue playing domestic white ball & franchise.”

Playing for Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC), Sohail Khan proved to be a valuable asset. He got 65 wickets in his initial nine matches, which included an impressive eight five-wicket hauls. His second ten-wicket match haul which was 16 wickets for 189 runs broke the national record set by Fazal Mahmood. With these superb performances, Sohail khan made it to the national cricket of Pakistan and played his first international match against Zimbabwe in 2008.
The bowler was widely famous as Sohail Pathan and he joined Rashid Latif Cricket Academy after coming to Karachi. There his raw talent was nourished and he gained more perfection in his bowling.
Sohail has achieved a total of 27 wickets in Test matches, 19 wickets in ODIs, and 5 wickets in T20Is. In First-Class cricket, he stands out with an impressive record of 516 wickets, while in List-A cricket, he has an impressive tally of 167 wickets. In T20 cricket, Sohail has managed to secure 158 wickets in 130 matches.
